T Narayan is a veteran photo journalist with more than 25 years of professional experience in India’s leading national newspapers and magazines and international agencies. From covering Punjab’s militancy to Kashmir’s terror-struck valley, from the Gujarat earthquake to the Mizo rebels in the far North-east corner of India, rarely a major event in India’s socio-political landscape since 1985 has escaped Narayan’s lenses. He has served country’s largest read English daily The Times of India as a senior photographer and the Hindustan Times as national photo editor. He also worked as photo editor of the top news magazines of India - The WEEK, India Today and Outlook.
Camera and the sound of click are the two things photojournalist T. Narayan has known all along his life. Experimenting with the magic of the lens since he was just 10, Narayan has inherited the mastery over this craft from his father, legendary photographer N.Thiagarajan. Working for India’s leading national newspapers and magazines and international agencies, Narayan has been holding a mirror to the politics, business and society of India for the last 25 years.
Not someone to rest on his laurels, Narayan is still in search of that elusive perfect shot. He is passionate about travelling, and has always enjoyed experiencing the happiness and the involvement with different cultures and people.
