Jagdeep Rajput

Jagdeep Rajput

As a young man, Jagdeep used to sketch portraits and paint landscapes. One day he happened to buy his first telephoto lens to photograph people, to help him sketch them better. But once he started observing birds and animals through that lens, he left painting for good and embraced photography, which soon became an obsession.

Photography, he believes, is a powerful medium to inform, educate, entertain and to emphasize upon the beauty and the importance of the natural world.

His work has been awarded and showcased by some of the best competitions / organizations around the world including, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, UK; Natures Best, USA; International Photography Awards, USA; UNESCO, France; Editor's Pick Awards, USA; Ballantine's International, UK; Sanctuary Wildlife Photography Awards and DJ Memorial Photography Contest; Canon; National Geographic, USA; Defenders of Wildlife; USA; BBC Wildlife etc.

His complete profile and awards can be seen here. The contests are being judged by him as a courtesy.
