PRAYING MANTIS AND THE MOON

PRAYING MANTIS AND THE MOON

Like Praying mantis, the majority of mantises are ambush predators that only feed upon live prey within their reach. As their hunting relies heavily on vision, mantises are primarily diurnal. Many species, however, fly at night, and then may be attracted to artificial lights. As the other insects and even mantises came close to the lights it is easier for the aggressive predator like Praying mantis to catch the live food. I found few praying mantis in a paddy field besides the national highway
