Joyful Bathing
People frequently ask me why banana flower is in upward direction. I try to convince them that this is Ornamental banana flower. I found this at Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari, Cooch Behar. Sunbirds are small in size and come to collect nectar and pollens. This is a female Purple sunbird native to our place. But this image depicts another story. This bird has been bathing with the dew collected on a petal in whole night. She uses this petal as a natural bath-tub for her bathing.
